REV. AMY
DIANE
SHOEMAKER
Associate Regional Minister for New Church
Greater Kansas City Christian Church (DOC)

Hi, I'm Amy.
I'm here to help you deepen your connection with Spirit, yourself, and others. I believe that our primary responsibility, as spiritual beings, is to clear and heal our internal conflicts, stresses, and struggles to be an open channel for love in the world.
Howard Thurman may have said it best:
“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

You deserve a full, rich, meaningful life. I can teach you how to have it.
Bio
I am currently serving the Greater Kansas City Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) as Associate Regional Minister for New Church. In this dream-come-true role, I help spiritual leaders start new congregations and new ministries within existing congregations.

Leading the ministry at Broadway Church form 2018 to 2024 was the honor of a life time!
When I left San Francisco in 2016, I had no idea what would be waiting in my hometown of Kansas City. However, when Spirit says "Leap!", I do just that.

A deep sense of spiritual connection began for me at an early age, accompanied by a lot of questions. A traumatic illness during adolescence created a deeper spiritual awakening and set me on the path toward spiritual leadership. I learned to ease my own fears and discomforts, unafraid of the messy and unknown parts of life.

I was educated at Drake University and Pacific School of Religion. Since finishing seminary in 2008, I have done a variety of work at the intersection of art and spirituality including Spiritual Direction, Dance Teaching, Church Planting, and Community Organizing.

I share a home with my wife, Carly, our adorable cats, Ketsl & TK, along with a revolving door of friends and extended family.
